The NextFactory project focuses on a radical innovation in the production of micro-components. Functional elements such as solar modules, micropumps and the like are to be manufactured in a single machine.
Production in the machine takes place layer by layer. The following technologies are combined:
- 3D free-form printing
- High-precision 3D micro-assembly
- Smart and functional materials for additive manufacturing
- Modeling, simulation and optimization tools
- quality assurance tools
The configuration for the production of components in the smallest lot sizes should be possible within one day. The user interface should be designed in such a way that the entire manufacturing process is possible without detailed knowledge of the individual process steps.
The main aim of the project is to open up the possibilities of additive manufacturing technologies to small and medium-sized enterprises.
